The Hamburg Chamber Ballet was founded in the summer of 2022 by Edvin Revazov, celebrated principal dancer with the Hamburg Ballet, together with Isabelle Rohlfs – a labor of love promoting community, cohesion, and solidarity. Since then, it has offered displaced young dancers from Ukraine a new artistic home in Hamburg.
In May 2025, the ballet made its debut together with composer and pianist Leon Gurvitch and his ensemble in the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie, receiving enthusiastic acclaim from audiences and the press. »A well-deserved standing ovation for an evening where everything was just right in terms of content, dance and humanity«, raved the Hamburger Abendblatt.
In 2026, musicians and dancers from Germany and Ukraine will present the world premiere of their new joint project for peace with the ballet »5 Seasons«. The audience can once again look forward to a moving ballet evening full of passion and emotion: dance for peace!
