FIREWORKS RIDE
Sailing trip on the white three-masted schooner MINERVA, built in 1935
The crew warmly welcomes you aboard the MINERVA and greets you with a welcome drink.
Everyone will quickly find a comfortable spot on board; there are plenty of seats available on the outer deck. The captain also welcomes visitors on the bridge. If you wish, you can ask the deck crew to help with setting the sails, or you can simply relax and enjoy the trip with a glass of wine or a freshly tapped beer.
Together we'll sail into the sunset during the blue hour, offering you breathtaking views of the port facilities, container terminals with their impressive container ships, the Airbus site, and the villas along the Elbchaussee. A brief visit to the four-masted barque PEKING is also planned. (Subject to change)
Many ships will be out this evening. On the way back, all vehicles will gather in front of the barrier line so that we can all experience the magical harbor birthday fireworks together, which take place in front of the Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Piers).
As soon as the road closure is lifted, we will return to our berth. We look forward to welcoming you for an exciting and atmospheric trip to the harbor festival.
THE SHIP
The MINERVA was launched in 1935 at the C. Lühring shipyard in Brake/Hammelwarden (Germany) as a three-masted schooner named UWE URSULA. In 1959, she was sold to Hamburg and operated there as a motor vessel. After changing hands several times in Hamburg, she was sold to Dutch owners in 1987, restored to her original three-masted schooner configuration, and renamed MINERVA. The ship is 49.00 meters long and has a sail area of 600 square meters.
The Minerva is suitable for seniors and small children thanks to its standard staircases and high freeboard. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on board (must be kept on a leash).
