What more beautiful perspective could there be than that from the water - of ships and the colorful hustle and bustle on land, of Hamburg's skyline with its landing bridges and container ships, of the museum harbor, the white villas of the Elbchaussee and the large AIRBUS site.

At midday, it's "Cast off!" Sail aboard the lovingly restored 71-year-old former Hamburg harbor ferry, the MS GROSSER MICHEL, towards the magnificent arrival parade. This parade forms the opening spectacle of Hamburg's Port Anniversary. Since we'll be sailing towards the parade, we'll pass all the ships and have fantastic photo opportunities.
If time allows, we will make a detour to the Hansa Port to visit Hamburg's most historic four-masted barque, the PEKING. She is currently moored at the quay of Shed 50 in the Port Museum, having been brought from New York by a dock ship and restored over three years in Wewelsfleth.

We would like to introduce you to a very special ship. The MS GROSSER MICHEL has been sailing through the Port of Hamburg since 1955. Originally a classic harbor ferry, it safely transported dockworkers to their workplaces. In the mid-1990s, it was decommissioned and transformed by its new owner into a uniquely beautiful event ship with hotel rooms, and it continues to be updated to reflect current trends. It adds a touch of Hanseatic style to Hamburg's fleet of exceptional passenger ships.
In good weather, the GROSSER MICHEL presents itself with an open saloon roof; in bad weather, it is comfortably closed.
