BOX SEAT HARBOR - 2-hour BRUNCH on the deep-sea tug Elbe

A former Greenpeace ship with a museum on board invites you to visit

Two hours of brunch, fresh harbor air and the best view:

On board a permanently moored ocean-going tugboat, you can enjoy the port's anniversary celebrations from a truly unique perspective. While ships glide by outside and the harbor is in a festive mood, you can relax, enjoy a leisurely meal, and soak up the maritime atmosphere right from the water.

A brunch that tastes of the sea and will be remembered.

This is also an experience for young and old alike, offering a shared adventure. Children marvel at the large ships and the colorful hustle and bustle of the harbor. The ocean-going tugboat ELBE provides an exciting place to spend quality time together.

Parents are responsible for their children and should not explore the ship unaccompanied. We wouldn't want to end up back in Holland with a stowaway! :-)

Look forward to an exciting experience on an extraordinary ship.

A special treat not only for technology fans and lovers of museum ships.

THE SHIP

The Rotterdam Port Museum (Stichting Maritieme Collectie Rijnmond) is sending the restored ocean-going tugboat ELBE to Hamburg. From the engine room to the interior, the ELBE has been returned to its original condition. This museum ship is unique. The ELBE, one of the most powerful tugboats in the world, is the last ocean-going tug of its type and the only seaworthy tugboat still sailing the world's oceans. On board, visitors will find a wealth of information about the ship's rich history.

The ELBE was launched in the Netherlands in 1959 and served as an ocean-going tug until 1976. It was then sold to the United States, where it served as a pilot vessel for approximately 10 years. From 1995 onwards, it was known as a Greenpeace ship. In 2002, Greenpeace donated the ship to the Rotterdam Port Museum. After a ten-year restoration by 60 volunteers, it returned to service in 2013, restored to its original condition.

The ship is 59.05 m long, 11.22 m wide, and has a draft of 4.45 m. It can reach top speeds of 10 knots (18.52 km/h). The crew consists of 20 people. The passenger capacity for day trips is 80 people. There is covered seating throughout the ship, as well as ample space inside in case of bad weather.
