For the exhibition project “GLOSSY,” magazine journalist David Baum has curated his personal favorites from three decades of great magazine photography and provides a background story or anecdote for each motif (don't forget your smartphone and headphones!).
Starting February 5, 2026, the Fabrik der Künste will show the works of photographers who shaped Germany's magazine culture, including Esther Haase, André Rival, Bryan Adams, Hubertus von Hohenlohe, Frank Zauritz, Jana Mai, Mathias Bothor, Robert Brembeck, Dirk Bruniecki, Laurent Burst, Simon Lohmeyer, Oliver Mark, Bernd Possardt, Peter Rigaud, Götz Schwan, Bodo Vitus, Christoph Voy, Markus Burke, Paul Schirnhofer, Cecil Arp – as well as Jan Riephoff, who is also involved as co-curator of the exhibition. The supporting program features panel discussions with editors-in-chief, art directors, photographers, and magazine makers who talk about their work, including Hatice Akyün (Jetzt.at), Christian Krug (Goodlife, formerly Max, Gala, and Stern), Wolfgang Behnken (art director of Stern and Max), and Anke Dehgenhard (curator and gallery owner).
