With Helge Masch - For 99 years, a blooming oasis has lain directly on the banks of the Wandse River. Founded in 1926 by the Wandsbek Teachers' Association as a school garden, the Wandsbek Botanical Garden is today a place where native and exotic plants can be admired. This two-hour guided tour will visit the greenhouse and the 1.5-hectare outdoor area, as well as the approximately 10 hectares of green space along the Wandse River. The head of the garden, Helge Masch, who has worked here for 42 years, will talk about its history, present, and future, and answer all questions. The focus will be on the concept, fascinating plants, and the connection between flora and fauna in times of climate change.
The focus is on the concept, exciting plants, but also the connection between flora and fauna in times of climate change.
The guided tour takes place in the outdoor area of the Wandsbek Botanical Garden at Walddörferstraße 273.
Hortus is the Latin word for garden. The courses entitled "Garden Knowledge @hortus" take place as in-person events in the Botanical Garden.
