The flower of the year 2026 is the wonderfully blue-violet field larkspur. Representing a multitude of arable wildflowers, the Loki Schmidt Foundation uses this choice to draw attention to the dramatic decline in biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. Along with poppies and cornflowers, the field larkspur is blooming this year in a small oat field in Inselpark. During this guided tour, André Palm from the Loki Schmidt Foundation will share fascinating information about this plant, which is extinct in Hamburg, and the impact of the lack of arable wildflowers on the local flora and fauna.
