Find us | Tibor Pogonyi
- Exhibition
‘In the moment before the break; the collapse, the awakening, the breakthrough, creation reveals itself.’
From 28 May 2025, Barlach Halle K will be showing works by the Hungarian painter Tibor Pogonyi.
Under the title 'I find us', around 30 works tell a story of the human imprint in eternity, of the intense moment shortly before the unveiling and of the ever-recurring becoming of man and creation.
Tibor Pogonyi studied at the Munich Art Academy, including as a master student of Anke Doberauer. His works, whose unmistakable style is reminiscent of old masters such as Velazquez or Titian, have been shown in Munich, Essen and Cologne as well as in Amsterdam, Rome and Basel.
With his first exhibition in Hamburg, we are experiencing an artist whose painting builds a bridge between the eras before modernism and contemporary painting. I find us reveals the eternal search for the conditions of being human and touches on the deeply human. Something that is perhaps more important in these times than ever before.
