Field Commander C. is a tribute to the great Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and one of the most impressive Cohen live shows Germany has to offer.

In addition to the large formation, which is extensively dedicated to the legendary tour of 1979 and giving goose bumps and standing ovations lasting several minutes in renowned concert halls throughout minutes of standing ovations, Rolf Ableiter’s Field Commander C. is now embarking on a more intimate search for traces. »Leonard Cohen’s Early Works – the Roots of Hallelujah« is the title of the new programme.

Anyone who studies Leonard Cohen cannot avoid the song »Hallelujah«. But if you want to understand how this incredible song came into being, you have to the early work of Cohen. Songs like »Suzanne«, »Bird on the Wire«, »So Long Marianne«, »Famous Blue Raincoat« are some of Cohen’s most famous works alongside »Hallelujah« and were all written during the creative period of the first four albums.

Guests can expect an evening full of melancholy, poetry, virtuosic joy of playing and stories centred around his magnificent early work – sensitively interpreted with guitar, violin, cello, organ and accordion.
