Welcome to the exhibition ‘Captured Cities’

From 8 August, the Pure Photography Gallery, in cooperation with the popstreet.shop Gallery, will be presenting the exhibition ‘Captured Cities’. Until 8 October, the focus will be on urban art, street art, pop art and artistic photography that transform public spaces into multifaceted works of art. Cities are not presented as static backdrops, but as living, constantly changing compositions. A must-see for anyone who wants to discover urban spaces in their fleeting, often overlooked nuances.

Pure Photography presents a visual journey through London, Barcelona and Hamburg with works by Heike Baltruweit. However, her unedited photographs usually contain no recognisable references to the location where they were taken – a deliberate break with documentary expectations. Instead, the artist is concerned with abstract compositions that reveal the invisible treasures of everyday urban life: weathered walls, torn posters, light reflections, shadows – the fleeting and inconspicuous elements that help shape the character of the city.

Popstreet.shop presents works by a wide variety of artists and approaches that immerse the big wide world of cities in images.
