Museums offer a view of both the past and the future: our history, relevant contemporary issues, and visions of what lies ahead. They create inspiring experiences, provide new impulses, foster collective memories, and generate fresh insights.
What kind of museum does Ottensen need?
What should it look like? What do façade, form, and materials communicate? What language does architecture speak?
Students from Gymnasium Altona in Ottensen explore these questions and present their ideas through models, drawings, texts, and collages. Focusing on selected locations in the district, they envision museums dedicated to themes they consider important and design inspiring, powerful, and influential architectural concepts for Ottensen.
