A story of friendship and betrayal, violence and condemnation, culminating in crucifixion and a violent death. Ensemble Resonanz plunges into the heated drama of Bach’s »St John Passion« and presents its own intimate version in a chamber music format. The notes themselves remain untouched, but the large turba choruses are omitted. Instead, guitar and electronic continuo set out together on atmospheric, otherworldly explorations.
