Ensemble Resonanz / Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir / Tõnu Kaljuste
- Concerts
Established by Tõnu Kaljuste in 1981, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) is today one of the most prestigious chamber choirs in Europe. And even though the Estonian conductor handed over the management of the choir after 20 successful years, he still willingly returns to this ensemble. In particular for the works of their famous compatriot Arvo Pärt, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year, Kaljuste and the EPCC are regarded as unmitigated authorities – in 2014, they were even honoured with a Grammy for the recording of Pärt’s »Adam’s Lament«. With this very work and accompanied by Hamburg’s Ensemble Resonanz, they now return to the Elbphilharmonie.
