Anyone who has ever been to a shared apartment party knows what the future prospects sound like: people are dancing to 2000s indie rock in the living room, tears are shed in the kitchen during deep conversations, someone is telling jokes, and in the end you go home with new friends and a touch of melancholy.
The lyrics are so direct and honest that you sometimes wish they'd lie a little more. Isolation, loss, and the absurdity of life collide with everyday observations that get under your skin. In 2024, the project won the Best Lyrics award at the local heroes national finals and was accepted into the renowned Popkurs Hamburg and the top-level development program pop rlp Masterclass.
Musically, Die weiteren Aussichten ranges between German indie greats like Kettcar and Thees Uhlmann and international insiders like Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks. It's as if German rap meets Scottish post-punk: melancholic but never heavy-hearted, honest but never self-pitying.
