A dance theatre piece freely adapted from motifs of the well-known fairy tale.
Directed by Ceren Oran
Premiere on 15/3/2026 on the main stage at Wiesendamm
In the world of the beautiful and wealthy, everything seems perfect. They form a closed society, into which only those who conform to standardized beauty ideals are allowed. But what happens when someone suddenly transforms into a beast? Or do others make them into one? What group dynamics are at play here? How does it feel to have to walk around among the beautiful as a beast? And are the beautiful really so beautiful? Or isn't there a beautiful beast inside all of us, one that deserves to be loved?
Ceren Oran, the internationally acclaimed choreographer and director known for her innovative performances, who has already presented two dance theater pieces for children at the Junges SchauSpielHaus, is now directing for the first time on the main stage at Wiesendamm. With her artistic team and the ensemble, she will develop an associative kaleidoscope of poetic and humorous scenes that questions conventional notions of beauty and processes of social exclusion. In the encounter with the Beast, we discover the beauty in difference and celebrate community as diversity. An opulent and musical feast for the senses – for everyone aged six and up.
