"Die andere Lesung" (The Other Reading) is an artistic-literary listening session accompanied by a collective picnic. Across several reading slots, authors offer insights into their texts and open up a space for diverse voices, translations, and interpretations. Between the readings, there is time to share a meal and strike up a conversation.
"Die andere Lesung" invites participants to experience literature as an encounter: What happens between a text and those listening to it? How are words found, and how do they change in translation? What do we pick up on, and what do we miss? And how do we translate and "re-poetize" one another in conversation? "Die andere Lesung" is thus an extended gathering—a space for a diversity of voices, translations, and interpretations.

Duration: approx. 3 hours. Feel free to arrive late or leave early. Bring your own picnic to share with others (along with your own plate and cutlery). A small selection of food and drinks will also be available on-site in exchange for a donation.
Admission: by donation / pay-what-you-like.

Location: Tea House, Große Wallanlagen, in Planten un Blomen Park, near Holstenwall 28/30
Most of the park entrances are accessible or equipped with ramps, as is the entrance to the Tea House. An accessible restroom is located on the event level. For those arriving by car, parking is available at the Tea Pavilion.
Public transport: Bus 12 to Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte / U3 St. Pauli or Feldstraße
