Der achtsame Tiger
- Musicals
A family musical by Martin Lingnau and Heiko Wohlgemuth
Is the tiger dangerous? A truly wild predator? What nonsense – the attentive tiger finds this description quite inappropriate. After all, he has his paws full helping his animal friends! He takes us into his colorful, mysterious world and shows us what a day in real tiger life looks like: He explains to the little elephant what a coco-moro-angana-vocado-citrusine is. He reveals his secret tiger trick to the boa constricted with stress. He helps the crocodile finally become braver, relieves the exhausted parrot from brooding, and has a relaxed time with the sloth. Because at the end there is a happy jungle party, together with all the friends, of course. Roaaar!
For their latest production, musical makers Martin Lingnau and Heiko Wohlgemuth—arguably the most successful authors of this genre in German-speaking countries—were inspired by a wonderful bestseller for children: With surprising ideas, a generous dose of wordplay, and plenty of music, they transform "The Mindful Tiger," the 2019 Children's Book of the Year by Przemysaw Wechterowicz and Emilia Dziubak, into a whirlwind musical romp set in a magnificent setting that enchants young and old alike. Directed by Carolin Spieß, who, in addition to "The Christmas Bakery," has already brilliantly staged numerous Schmidt children's productions, such as "The Robber Hotzenplotz and the Moon Rocket" and "Little Störtebeker."
“The Mindful Tiger” – a fun family musical with ten catchy songs, wonderful costumes and puppets, and a tiger-strong message that comes on silent paws.
The project's patron is Rolf Zuckowski: "'The Mindful Tiger' is sure to bring you a lot of joy. It takes you on an exciting, fun, and even educational visit to the jungle, and you'll be surprised that a tiger can be completely different from what you previously thought. I wish you lots of fun!"
