In Nickelland, people live happily together. While the Nickel children are happily sitting in school, the magic light that makes their world so colorful, cheerful, and diverse is stolen. The Nickel children, without permission, set off on their own into the dark, dense Forest of Lies to retrieve the magic light.
There, they are greeted by crazy creatures, of whom no one knows whether they are good or evil. On their adventurous journey, a Nickel Child also disappears. Will the Nickel Children be able to save their friend and recreate the magic light?
