The program “Phoenix” tells the story of growth, transformation, and renewal through musical images. At its core stands the phoenix—symbol of death, change, and rebirth—serving as the guiding thread of the concert.
The program is divided into three sections:
Past, shaped by energetic Latin American rhythms and classical tradition;
Death, a phase of inner transformation and farewell;
Rebirth, music filled with light, hope, and renewed energy.
Works by Igor Stravinsky, Johann Sebastian Bach, Olivier Messiaen, and Astor Piazzolla enter into dialogue with legendary voices of Latin American music such as Cheo Feliciano, Compay Segundo, Fito Páez, Charly García, Miguel Matamoros, and João Pernambuco. The result is a richly layered sound world in which classical music, tango, bolero, jazz, and zamba merge into a vibrant unity.
The international chamber ensemble brings together voice, violin, oboe, clarinet, piano, guitar, double bass, and percussion with marimba and xylophone. Musicians from different countries contribute their cultural backgrounds, shaping a living musical body—a phoenix rising again and again from the ashes.
