Two outstanding young musicians, violinist Chad Hoopes and pianist Anton Mejias, are now performing together for the first time at the Elbphilharmonie, following their acclaimed duo recital at the Dresden Music Festival. Hoopes and Mejias present a programme featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Fritz Kreisler, unfolding a musical dialogue that ranges from Bach’s spiritual depth to Kreisler’s unmistakable Viennese charm.
The American violinist Chad Hoopes captivates audiences with his exceptionally warm tone and radiant musicality. The New York Times praised his »brilliant technique and a rich, singing tone«. Hoopes has already performed as a soloist worldwide with leading orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris and the San Francisco Symphony, and collaborates regularly with the conductor Tarmo Peltokoski.
The Finnish-Cuban pianist Anton Mejias captivates with his imagination and musical depth. He recently wowed audiences as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. His debut album »The Art of Memory«, released by Deutsche Grammophon in 2025, has been acclaimed internationally – the »Süddeutsche Zeitung« praised his »astonishing virtuosity«.
