As »one of the most influential pianists of recent decades« (ARTE), American Brad Mehldau inspires fans far beyond the jazz cosmos. This is not only a result of his extraordinary skills as an improviser but also of his compositions, in which his deep love for the architecture of music is as evident as his enthusiasm for good pop music. As part of Mehldau’s »Reflektor« festival, some of his compositions can now be heard in new big-band arrangements, with Mehldau playing them together with the hr-Bigband under the direction of Darcy James Argue.
