The shipyard was founded in 1861: Since then, the family business, run by Rainer Hatecke in the fifth generation, has specialized in the construction of wooden boats.
Tour of the harbor, shipyard tour and trip in a traditional boat
We'll discuss the changing significance of the harbor and the challenges of a tidal harbor with a flushing lock and basin. The function of the historic granary has also changed over the past three centuries. At the Hatecke boatyard, we'll receive an introduction to the past and present of wooden boat building. The tour concludes with a trip on a historic pile-driver or a "Börte" boat.
