To support the work of the association Arise eV – A School for Ghana, there will again be a benefit event this year in the Eduard-Söring-Saal in Ahrensburg.
A colorful afternoon with various participants will begin on March 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
The Baltic Jazz Singers from Lübeck will be there again.
As unique as each individual singer, so too are the musical pieces interpreted by the Baltic Jazz Singers. Groovy cult songs, chart-toppers, and modern, newly inspired arrangements of rarely heard pieces are brought to the stage by the Baltics with a sophisticated and energetic sound. The Baltic Jazz Singers aim to touch and surprise their audience with their music, sometimes with quirky pieces that, far removed from the mainstream, deliver a humorous musical assault on the audience's funny bone. Choir director Ingrid Kunstreich, with her wealth of ideas and expertise, ensures a varied sound and good vibes—for both the choir and the audience.
The choir is accompanied by three other groups:
Drum group from Hamburg/Meinendorf:
Florence Etsey comes from Ghana. She leads a course in African drumming at the community center in Meiendorf. Together with experienced drummers, she will play Ghanaian drumming for us.
Children of the KOALA class at the elementary school at the castle:
The Koala class from the Am Schloß primary school enriched the concert with two cheerful songs. The children sang, drummed, and showed us how important it is to live in a peaceful world.
Women's ensemble Vocalitas:
The four singers of the women's ensemble VOCALITAS transport us to different worlds and cultures with their a cappella singing.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of the association Arise eV – a school for Ghana – in detail and live. Coffee, cold drinks, and cake will be provided (available by donation).
Here is some current information about the club:
The website of the association Arise eV – A School for Ghana (www.arise-ev.org) continues to show the successful development of the project. The presentations commemorating the association's 10th anniversary encourage the continuation of the project.
After a school for approximately 20 children was established in 2015 in a small fishing community (Kokrobite/Tuba) in Ghana using simple means and great enthusiasm, a complete primary school (6 classrooms, cafeteria, kitchen) has since been built. There, 135 children are taught daily – and provided with a free meal – who would otherwise have no access to education due to their living conditions. This supports them in developing a future in their homeland.
We hope we have sparked your interest in the work of the Arise eV association – a school for Ghana. Please feel free to contact us via email at info@arise-ev.org. Perhaps you would like to become a member of the association (annual fee €24), make a donation, or are simply curious about other ways you can get involved.
