Patricia Carolin Mai's dance productions stand for intergenerational and, where possible, intercontextual collaborations with people from the city who are interested in movement. Since 2018, the choreographer has been using her production resources to explore the accessibility of dance through rehearsal and performance processes. In May 2025, Patricia Carolin Mai founded the Mai:Company, taking an important step in stabilising the work she began over seven years ago with and for people from the city. In the VHS course All On Stage, Patricia Carolin Mai presents movement approaches and principles from her dance productions and tries them out with the participants. What dance and communication potential lies in the transitions from one physical state to the next - in the fleeting and transformative moment of the in-between? How do I make decisions individually and as part of a group? How do I relate to other bodies and space? Whether sitting, lying or standing, slow or fast, with the whole body or parts of it - all on stage!
