Christmas market at the Michel

The oldest Christmas market in Hamburg

The St. Michaelis Christmas market in Hamburg has a long tradition: since 1919, the market has been attracting visitors from near and far to the Hanseatic city on the first weekend of Advent.

Hamburg without Michel is just as unimaginable as Christmas without St. Michaelis Christmas market. For 100 years now, the Michel Christmas market has taken place on the first weekend of Advent and heralds the start of the contemplative Christmas season.

Browse and Stroll

Every year more than 100 exhibitors find their way to the Michel Christmas market. In the crypt, on the church square and in the parish hall handicrafts, fashion and jewellery are exhibited. If you are looking for Christmas presents, you are sure to find them here.

Enjoy the taste

Food stalls with crepes, sausages and mulled wine as well as the "Café der Generationen" in the Bachsaal of the Gemeindehaus will take care of your physical well-being. Coffee and cakes are served in a Christmassy atmosphere. There is a varied entertainment programme for children. The Christmas market at the Michel offers fun for young and old. Christmas can come.
