VRHAM! Digital & Immersive Art Biennale

Hamburg's Biennale for Digital and Immersive Art at the Oberhafenquartier

From June 11 to 18, 2025, the VRHAM! Biennale transforms Hamburg's Oberhafenquartier into a hub for digital art. Visitors can experience a curated exhibition featuring virtual reality, AI art, interactive installations, and more.

VRHAM! – Digital & Immersive Art Biennale 2025 invites visitors from June 11 to 18, 2025, to Hamburg's Oberhafenquartier. As the world's first curated biennale for digital art, VRHAM! presents visionary works at the intersection of visual arts and immersive technology.

The central exhibition at Tom Reichstein Contemporary gallery showcases international positions in virtual reality, AI-generated art, photography, and light installations. Visitors can experience interactive works that offer new perspectives on contemporary art.

A highlight is the mixed-reality installation EVOLVER by British artist collective Marshmallow Laser Feast, offering a multisensory journey through the human body. The experience begins with an audio meditation narrated by Cate Blanchett and leads into a visual representation of one's own breath.

The Digital Art Lab, curated by Peggy Schoenegge, offers workshops, talks, and panels on digital art forms. Visitors can experiment with technologies and engage with artists.

At the opening of the biennale, the MOIN Showcase presents five immersive projects funded under the "Innovative Moving Image Formats" program. These prototypes explore digital storytelling with new media.

The main church at Klosterstern. St. Nikolai

St. Nikolai - the name represents an extremely changeful church history. The principal church of St. Nikolai was built during the time of the settlement of the new city in the 12th century, and by 1353 had been extended to become a triple naved basilica in the Gothic style - it was then completely destroyed in the Great Fire of Hamburg in 1842.
