In the heart of HafenCity, the 1,000 square metre Urbaneo invites you to rethink the city. In workshops, exhibitions and creative learning spaces, people build, research, model and discuss - with their heads, hearts and hands.
Urbaneo sees itself as a hands-on architecture centre and invites families and young people in particular to experience and help shape the city and space with all their senses. Architecture is not explained here - it is experienced: playfully, sensually, critically and together. Whether with LEGO, camera or kinetic sand, whether in animated film projects, model-making courses or neighbourhood excursions - the Urbaneo is an open space for a change of perspective, creativity and the desire to design.
The aim of Urbaneo is to involve young people in urban planning and to offer low-threshold access to architecture and building culture education.
Urbaneo is open to school classes, groups, initiatives and anyone who wants to help shape the city. The centre is recommended for visitors to Hamburg and Hamburg residents themselves aged between 10 and 99.
