Once located in the remote Poppenbuettel quarter, Kir moved to the Max-Brauer-Allee in the 1980s, where many legendary indie concerts took place.
KIR has long been an integral part of Hamburg's nightlife. The KIR has always remained in the hearts of the Hamburgers because of its penchant for independent music of the 70s, 80s and 90s, and the Gothic scene also goes in and out here.
The KIR offers premises for parties of all kinds with everything that goes with it: lush bar, dance area with DJ and lighting system and lounge. But the KIR is also available for quieter occasions such as exhibitions or film screenings, seminars, workshops, hackerspaces or readings.
