Café Leonar

Café Leonar attracts visitors with its finest mezze and reminds them of the centuries-old Jewish tradition of the Grindelviertel.

Since its opening in 2008, Café Leonar has been active in the vibrant centre of the former Jewish quarter, formerly known as "Little Jerusalem". In recent years, Jewish businesses have once again made a name for themselves with the great enthusiasm and emotion of the residents of the Grindelviertel. With concerts, readings and cabaret, Leonar is not only a café but also a cultural centre, literature café, restaurant and bar. Among its regular customers it is only known as "Das Leonar".

In addition to popular Jewish specialities, the menu also includes some classics and seasonal dishes. Our tip: the homemade cake with coffee is a must for all food lovers!

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Eimsbüttel & Eppendorf

Here, one can find magnificent old building façades, local and exquisite restaurants as well as fancy boutiques and owner-operated shops. While Eppendorf is rather fancy, one can feel the hanseatic serenity in Eimsbüttel. Both districts offer much green and water and are hence with good reason very popular neighbourhoods in Hamburg.

Highballs since 2012 Boilerman Bar

Stirred, never shaken. The Boilerman Bar specializes in so-called highballs. These drinks consist of a base spirit such as whiskey or gin and a "filler" such as ginger ale, tonic water or the like.
