Harbour tour by bike

In Hamburg, you can take a harbour tour not only by ship, but also by bicycle. Just hop on your bike, let the fresh breeze blow around your nose and explore the maritime harbour culture on the right and left along the way.

The harbour tour by bike starts at the Landungsbrücken. You can get there easily by public transport and there is also a StadtRAD station if you want to rent a bike. You cycle past the hustle and bustle of the Landungsbriicken to the Old Elbe Tunnel, through which Veloroute 11 runs.

After passing under the tunnel of the Norderelbe, the route leads past various canals and harbour basins - always with a beautiful view of Hamburg harbour and some of the city's highlights such as the Elbphilharmonie.

The Ernst-August Canal is ideal for a leisurely break, e.g. in the idyllic beer garden "Zum Anleger". After a refreshment stop, continue along cycle route 10, which takes you over the Elbe bridge back to the other bank of the Elbe. Along the Oberhafen canal, your gaze falls on the modern office building at Brooktorkai. Along the Zollkanal, the route then passes HafenCity until you reach the starting point again at Landungsbrücken.

The floating dock - called the "Landungsbrücken" (landing stages) – is 700 metres long. Harbour tours and the HADAG steamers to Finkenwerder, Oevelgönne and Blankenese leave from this water "station". Impressive luxury cruisers also dock here from time to time.
