Autumn biking

Medium to difficult bike tour. Good basic condition required. The tour may include passages with loose ground, which are difficult to ride.

On this beautiful tour you can let your eyes wander over idyllic lakes glittering in the golden autumn sun and enjoy unique nature in the Hahnheide. The starting point is the U -Bahnhof Wandsbek Markt. There is a StadtRAD station here if you don't have your own bike. Then the tour starts by cycling directly to the Wandse. A natural path winds along the river, which you follow to the edge of the city. Then you cycle across wide fields and meadows, past the southern shore of the Großensee and through Trittau. Behind the town, the edge of the Hahnheide is reached and a short time later you are already immersed in the unique nature of the forest area. Here you cycle up to the Großer Hahnheider Berg with its lookout tower. From the top you can enjoy a fascinating view over Hahnheide and all the way to Hamburg. After cycling an extended loop through the forest, the way back passes the Mönchsteich and the northern beach of the Großensee. On the old railroad line of the Südstormarnsche Kreisbahn, the route then heads back towards Hamburg, where the final ride through the city takes you back to the Wandsbek Markt subway station.
