The still young Hamburg-based shipping company TUI Cruises was founded in 2008 and is a joint venture of TUI AG, the world's largest tourism group and the globally active Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, the world's second largest cruise company based in Miami. The on-board language on all ships of the "Mein Schiff"-Flotte is German.
During summer the ships sail mainly in European waters and during the winter months mainly in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia.
