Vogelball Festival

Electronic dance music in front of the Hamburg harbour scenery

The Sparrows Whistle - an electronic symphony of anticipation for the VOGELBALL 2024, which will take place for the eleventh time. Traditionally for the big parade of the CSD in Hamburg we invite our visitors to the queer masked ball.

Hamburg's wildest courtship dance is the prelude to the festival series on the MS Dockville grounds. The queer masked ball in the bushes, nests and horsts on the Reiherstieg in Wilhelmsburg has long since become an institution for local dance lovers.

The festival

The ritual includes the bird metamorphosis with friends in the local parlour as well as the following swarm cycling through the Old Elbe Tunnel, including chirping, ringing and chattering. On site, the homemade feather costumes and glittering jewellery flutter to the beats - until deep into the next morning.

Electronic beats

The Vogelball is an interplay of music, dance and performance, a diverse selection of electronic artists and DJs, an enthusiastic audience full of birds of paradise and prodigies. We are already looking forward to turning night into day and feather dress into costume with wild sounds.

More information about the Vogelball Festival and the line up can be found here.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Wilhelmsburg & Veddel

The Elbe Island of Wilhelmsburg is embedded between the southern and northern Elbe. It impresses visitors with a mixture of industrial charm and bustling life with multicultural flair. With its historic buildings, cafés and shops, the Wilhelmsburg Reiherstieg area is especially popular. It is even called "Little Berlin" due to its transformation in recent years. And then there is the neighbouring island of Veddel, which also has much to offer.
