During the Lange Nacht der Museen, culture-loving night owls can discover the diverse exhibitions and special programmes of 53 museums in Hamburg with just one ticket. Over 550 events, such as guided tours, workshops and a special children's programme, as well as a wide range of activities in different languages make this night unforgettable!

On Saturday, 27 April 2024, 53 Hamburg museums, exhibition venues and memorial sites will open their doors to cultural explorers from all over the world. From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., those interested in culture can experience the collections and special exhibitions at night.
Visitors can put together their own personal programme from a range of over 550 events. These include curator-led tours, interactive workshops, readings and technical demonstrations, dance, theatre and film. There is a colourful family programme as well as guided toursfor sighted and non-sighted people. There are also events in German sign language, English, French, Korean, Low German, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
Journey of discovery through the night: highlights from art, history and science
Visitors can peer into the universe through the telescopes of the Hamburg Observatory Astronomy Park, while the high ropes course on the Cap San Diego takes adventure-seekers to dizzying heights. In the Speicherstadtmuseum, visitors can try out the traditional activities of Hamburg's neighbourhood men. The Freie Akademie der Künste presents the creation of a head in a live sculptural performance, while the Hamburger Kunsthalle sheds light on queer identities in art history. At the Jenisch Haus, things get emotional with international wedding photography, while the Ernst Barlach Haus reveals the misery of the big city in the work of Werner Scholz. The Medizinhistorische Museum Hamburg Hamburg sheds light on the persecution of Jewish doctors under National Socialism, and visitors can print their own resistance leaflets at the Stadthaus history centre. The University Museum offers rapped tours on Hamburg's National Socialist and colonialist past. The Deutsches Hafenmuseum (under construction) at Schuppen 50A offers maritime art on the body with the tattoo artist Tüdelmors, while old radios are transformed into musical instruments at electrum - The Museum of Electricity. In the Museum of Nature - Zoology, visitors can explore the wondrous world of worms, and in the Museum der Arbeit, the exhibition "Man & Mining" offers global perspectives on current raw material crises.

Tickets
Tickets (regular EUR 17.00/ reduced EUR 12.00/ Young Night for 13-17 year olds EUR 4.00) are available at all participating museums, the usual Hamburg concert and advance booking offices and in the online ticket shop. The event is free of charge for children up to the age of 12. The ticket entitles the holder to use the hvv (rings A-F) on the day of the event from 4.00 pm until 6.00 am the following day, the LANGE-NACHT bus shuttle and selected special means of transport, such as the historic S-Bahn and a launch shuttle.
