SWR Symphonieorchester / Maxime Pascal
- Concerts
François-Xavier Roth is unable to conduct this concert due to a shoulder injury. In his place, Maxime Pascal will conduct the concert with a modified programme. The concert will begin with excerpts from Boulez’ »Notations«. Boulez originally wrote the twelve miniatures for piano, which is why Pierre-Laurent Aimard, a true expert in modern music, will be the soloist for this concert. From 1978 to 1997, Boulez reworked parts of the »Notations« for orchestra and greatly expanded them. The orchestral and piano versions are performed alternately. Bruckner is still on the programme in the second part, but instead of the Ninth, the SWR Symphonieorchester now plays Bruckner’s Fourth Symphony, which also bears the nickname »Romantic«. With its voluptuous horn sound, it is one of the Austrian composer’s most popular creations.
Ticket purchasers and subscribers will be informed of these changes by email. Tickets already purchased remtain their validity.
