After a decade of intensive work behind the scenes, the celebrated German choreographer Sasha Waltz returns to the stage herself with her company – and is creating her own »Reflektor« festival at the Elbphilharmonie for a long weekend. In »for the time being« she invites, together with her dance ensemble, on a journey into the collective experience of the moment. The musical dimension is provided by Chilean composer and producer Diego Noguera, whose electronic ambient compositions immerse the performance in spherical soundscapes.
At the center of the performance are innovative methods such as »Authentic Movement«, in which dancers spontaneously respond to their inner emotional and physical impulses, and »Deep Listening«, which focuses on the conscious and attentive perception of sound, movement, and space. Every gesture emerges in the moment – the ensemble reacts to one another in real time, creating a living, immediate togetherness. The audience, seated around the stage in the middle of the room, also becomes part of this creative process and experiences up close how art is created that exists only in the here and now.
