Hornbostel has a special “natural kingdom” with the pasture on which the villagers have kept their cattle for centuries.
The breathtakingly beautiful landscape with stately old oaks, forests, heathland and juniper groves is home to red Milan, white stork and noble dragonflies, wild pansies and swan flowers.
Red-colored lowland cattle have been taking care of the 75-hectare nature reserve there since 2019.
On this hike, experience the charm of this natural landscape on paths that you are not otherwise allowed to walk on.
Think of sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing and personal provisions (no refreshments).
The tour partly leads over unpaved paths, sure-footedness and a medium level of fitness are recommended.
