For fans of Phil Collins, this concert is a must: »Phil« recreates the original sound of Phil Collins and Genesis. The name says it all for this 11-piece band, fronted by charismatic singer Jürgen »Phil« Mayer. Their repertoire features the biggest hits of the English megastar and his former band Genesis, faithfully recreating their original sound.
Through numerous live performances in Germany, across Europe and in the USA, the band has earned an outstanding reputation as one of the most authentic Phil Collins and Genesis tribute acts. »Phil« was founded in 1998 by members of the rock band »Amnesia«.
Singer Jürgen Mayer had long suggested taking the group in a new musical direction by launching a Phil Collins and Genesis project. The idea was hardly far-fetched: Jürgen is a devoted Phil Collins fan and expert. He bears a striking resemblance to the English megastar – and, even more importantly, his voice comes remarkably close to the original. Phil Collins himself, with whom the band has maintained close contact for years, recommends that fans of his music attend a »Phil« concert. He even sent his personal congratulations on the band’s tenth anniversary!
