Nature Writing über Wasser

Focus on Nature – the international Nature Writing Festival Hamburg 2025 presents our knowledge of nature, its impact, and its significance. Natural sciences and humanities, nonfiction, and literary formats present what they can say about nature: what can be said and where the limits of what can be said lie.
NATURE WRITING ABOUT WATER - "Valley Meanders," "Alps," and "Still Waters." Readings and discussion with Paula Schweers, Jannete Hentati, and Lena Frings. In German and English. Moderated by Hella Kemper.
What influence do rivers and lakes have on our landscapes and habitats? Lena Frings, Jannete Hentati, and Paula Schweers have chosen three bodies of water as the subject of their writing: the meandering Ahr River, the untamed Torne River in northern Sweden, and the tranquil Schwielowsee. Lena Frings and Jannete Hentati return to their home regions in their essays; for Paula Schweers, living on the shores of Schwielowsee is a new lease on life. Hella Kemper, herself a river author, will moderate the discussion after the readings.
The event takes place as part of the Nature Writing Festival Hamburg 2025.
