Focus on Nature – the international Nature Writing Festival Hamburg 2025 presents our knowledge of nature, its impact, and its significance. Natural sciences and humanities, nonfiction, and literary formats present what they can say about nature: what can be said and where the limits of what can be said lie.

Festival opening: presentation of the program and discussions
(With Katharina Hagena, Karsten Reise, Miek Zwamborn, Uwe Rada, Mara-Daria Cojocaru, Klaas Jarchow, and others). Presentation and discussion: Tanya Lieske and Hella Kemper. Festival director Klaas Jarchow will present the program's main themes, and the authors will provide insights into their themes and artistic intentions.

"Nature and Us" – which aspects of this theme will the festival address? How do we become "nature-ready"? Where can we meet the authors?
