Six concertos for a variety of instruments – this modest title scarcely hints at the richness of what Johann Sebastian Bach created: nothing less than a compendium of the Baroque instrumental concerto. Performing without a conductor, the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra presents the complete cycle of the Brandenburg Concertos, giving its musicians complete artistic freedom to delight the audience with dazzling virtuosity and constantly changing instrumental combinations.
Playful duets for solo horns and recorders, trios of oboes, violins and violas in spirited competition, brilliant trumpet and transverse flute solos, and the exhilarating energy of the full ensemble – all this and much more awaits the audience in the Laeiszhalle Grand Hall.
