With its Christmas program, amarcord takes the audience on a musical journey through centuries and continents. The five singers—Wolfram Lattke, Robert Pohlers, Frank Ozimek, Daniel Knauft, and Holger Krause—combine their unmistakable vocal precision with the diversity of international and historical Christmas carols. From classical works such as »Es ist ein Ros entsprungen« and the Spanish »Villancicos« to English choral pieces like »In the Bleak Mid-Winter,« artful motets, familiar tunes, and festive arrangements unfold, rich in timbre and intensity.
In the second part, the spirit of Christmas is explored from Finland to Nigeria, from Trinidad & Tobago to Poland. Contemplative melodies alternate with jazzy grooves, pop songs, and African rhythms—a festive, varied musical experience. amarcord thus creates a musical home for the Christmas season—a concert evening full of emotion and the ensemble’s unmistakable charm.
