Airport Model Exhibition

The Airport World of Experience: Hobby pilots and airport fans can experience the fascination of flying up close at Hamburg Airport.

In the Airport Model Exhibition, large and small spectators can gain exciting insights into flight operations and the airport grounds in an entertaining show. An astounding 8,000 light-emitting diodes transform the model layout into a sea of lights and let the airport, including buildings, taxiways and runways, shine at night.

The highlight of the presentation are the take-offs and landings of the model aircraft, which rise above the heads of the spectators to take off on their short flight. Radio messages, engine noises and vibrating seats bring the spectators to life as "co-pilots" and simulated flight operations - an air experience for the senses!

If you haven't had enough, you can take an exciting look behind the scenes on the subsequent apron tour. The visitors marvel at the complex handling of an aircraft from up close and gather impressions that get under your skin. Prior registration is required for participation.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Hamburg North

Hamburg North is a wonderful place to live. The city centre can be reached in no time, and there is plenty of nature nearby. Everything goes at a slightly slower pace here. But there are still many things to see and do.
