Current exhibition: From Monet to Picasso: Jewish Art Collectors

11 September 2026 – 29 March 2027

With the exhibition ‘From Monet to Picasso. Jewish Art Collectors in Germany’, the Bucerius Kunst Forum highlights 15 significant collections established by German Jews before 1945. As dedicated collectors, patrons and advocates of modern art, they played a decisive role in shaping its development and recognition in Germany.

Around 100 masterpieces tell the story of their extraordinary collections and personal histories. The exhibition spans a spectrum from Realism and Impressionism through Expressionism to New Objectivity, presenting works by major artists such as Paul Cézanne, Lovis Corinth, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Franz Marc, Paula Modersohn-Becker and Max Pechstein. At the same time, the exhibition commemorates the long-forgotten contribution of Jewish collectors to modern art and brings their pioneering role back into the spotlight.
