Spielbudenplatz

The Spielbudenplatz is the large town square of St. Pauli. Located in the heart of St. Pauli, the square attracts residents and visitors alike with its diverse events.

Whether with weekly events such as the St. Pauli Night Market and the Street Food Session, events such as the residents' flea market, the Food Truck Festival, the Viertel Meile Design Market, the Garden Love garden market or of course SANTA PAULI - Hamburg's hottest Christmas market, there's always something going on at Spielbudenplatz. Beside the St. Pauli Theater, Schmidts Tivoli and the Schmidt Theater there are many small bars on the square.

Summer and Winter deck

During the summer months, the square is transformed daily into an urban beer garden with colourful container bars offering fresh drinks and inviting you to linger, while there are exciting music acts to discover every day on the live stage.

The winter deck on the Spielbudenplatz is a small winter wonderland in the heart of the Reeperbahn. The stage in front of the Operettenhaus transforms into a cosy bar every autumn and winter, where the autumn maltreated heart gets everything it desires. Under floating fir trees and on cuddly seats in front of the fireplace, visitors to the winter deck can make themselves at home and enjoy relaxing hours in the middle of the neighbourhood and yet away from the hustle and bustle.

New beverage creations every year

The drinks menu on the winter deck is peppered with hot and cold creations. Lovers of classic mulled wine, baked apple punch, elderberry ginger punch and other hot drinks will be just as happy here as those who prefer unusual specialities such as the "Bordsteinschwalbe" (hazelnut liqueur with rum & cream), "Hopp Hopp" (woodruff liqueur with rum & cream) or Tropik Erotik (vodka with passion fruit juice & cream).

Even while the Spielbudenplatz SANTA PAULI - Hamburg's hottest Christmas market - is raging, the winter deck is always in the middle. From here, visitors can see the entire market with a delicious drink in their hands and then explore it on their own tour.
