Schmidtchen

For over a quarter of a century, the best entertainment on Germany's most famous mile, the Hamburg Reeperbahn: With around 400,000 visitors per year, the Schmidt - consisting of Schmidt Theater, Schmidt's TIVOLI and Schmidtchen - is Germany's most successful private theatre.

In 2015, the youngest member of the Schmidt family started playing in the new clubhouse St. Pauli directly next to the Schmidt Theater. The programme includes cheeky newcomers, small productions and big names with fresh programmes. The host and good soul of our theatre baby is our long-time Schmidt-Saalchef Henning Mehrtens - who, like us, is looking forward to welcoming you to Schmidtchen!

The Schmidtchen is the branch of the Schmidt Theater and the Schmidts Tivoli, which have been able to assert themselves for many years as Germany's most successful private theater. In the adjacent St. Pauli clubhouse, the small stage offers space for about 200 culture enthusiasts. The Schmidtchen serves as a springboard for young artists and newcomers, because new stars have been born in the Schmidt for over a quarter of a century: successful artists such as Ingo Appelt, Michael Mittermeier or Helge Schneider have taken their first steps towards success on the stage of the theatre and many of them are still enthusiastic fans of the house today.

The Schmidtchen can also be rented as an event location. The attached bar Alte Liebe takes care of the culinary supply of the guests.

Pop and jazz, coffee and cakes Lola

In Bergedorf a police station was moved in 1992. What remained was an old building, whose further use was up for discussion. Dedicated people with a healthy sense of community turned it into a cultural centre that has enriched the life of the district to this day.

Thalia Gaussstrasse

The Gaußstraße is an annexe of the Thalia Theatre and at the same time district theatre of Hamburg Altona – open to all from Greater Hamburg, but with a strong connection to the creative melting pot Altona consisting of workers, members of the middle class and an increasingly intercultural society.
