The monsun theater in Hamburg presents modern speech and music theatre as well as a colourful programme for children.

In the small monsun theater with 79 seats, mostly modern plays are performed, as well as song evenings, poetry evenings or one-man comedy Shows that take place here.
In addition, the monsun theater regularly offers seminars and workshops as well as acting and singing lessons, dance courses and author exchanges.

History of the theatre

In 1979 the monsun theater moved into its premises in the former warehouse of a mustard factory. The monsun is a privately run house and the oldest off-theatre in the city. The repertoire is open to all genres, including those that are rather non-commercial. Over the course of more than 20 years, the main focus has been on contemporary speech, dance and music theatre, classical song recitals and children's theatre. With its debut stage, monsun theater also offers young actors the opportunity to perform and develop their talents. The monsun sees itself as a meeting place for different artists, arts and cultures.
