A little over 10 years ago, Hans-Georg Beyer—the long-time conductor of the Akkordeon-Orchester Hamburg-Eimsbüttel v.1949 e.V., known to many as »Hamburger Schorsch«—passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Six months later, the young conductor Stefanie Perl-Kindel took over the baton, bringing a wealth of ideas and an unusual energy to the orchestra. Thanks to her studies at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen, she not only brought a solid education to the table but also extensive contacts within the accordion scene, which have benefited the orchestra over the years. For example, in 2024, on the occasion of the orchestra’s 75th anniversary, there was a special concert in collaboration with Tobias Dalhof. Her ideas ensure that every concert has a special highlight which is waiting to be discovered. For her 10th anniversary, she has once again put together a program that reflects the full range of what an accordion orchestra has to offer. The orchestra plays pieces ranging from classical music to musicals, pop, and rock. Additionally, the accordion was named Instrument of the Year 2026 by the State Music Councils.
