Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg

Pure fascination!

The Miniatur Wunderland in Speicherstadt Hamburg is the must-see for all railway enthusiasts, world-deckers, families and every other visitor to Hamburg!

More than 1,000 trains with over 10,000 wagons and 130,000 trees, 263,000 figures, 9,250 cars, 15,400 metres of track, 4,340 houses and bridges were set up by more than 300 employees in more than 795,000 hours of painstaking work. In this model building landscape of superlatives you will see realistic, completely computer-controlled train operations. Even day and night it becomes in the railway world - even every 15 minutes. Recently, the Miniatur Wunderland is presenting HafenCity Hamburg and the Elbphilharmonie in a small format. Look forward to what is probably the smallest concert hall in the world!

Bella Italia in the Miniatur Wunderland

The "Bella Italia" area in Wunderland is the latest of the nine existing miniature worlds.

After almost 3 years of construction and a total of 180,000 working hours, "Bella Italia" opened its doors in February 2018. On 190 m² visitors can immerse themselves in the many facets of Italy. Whether sunny beaches, historic buildings or mysterious ruins: "Bella Italia" offers all the pictures you would expect from a holiday in Italy. Of course this also includes parts of Rome including St. Peter's Basilica and the Colosseum, the bubbling volcano Vesuvius as well as the sunken city of Pompeii. Discover "Bella Italia"!

The Harz Mountains with an endlessly long ICE high-speed train line and more than 130 trains are just as much at home here as landscapes from Austria, Scandinavia or replicas of famous districts of Hamburg and sights from the Hamburg Michel to Hagenbeck's zoo to the world port.

The USA in Hamburg attracts visitors with its desert and gambling metropolis Las Vegas.

A good 10% of all Wunderland lights are installed here - around 33,000 of them. But the other areas are also breathtaking: the Keys and Cape Canaveral pass directly into Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon is only separated from Mount Rushmore and the Yosemite National Park by a busy highway.

In 2005 the sixth section was completed with Scandinavia. The real water basin is particularly impressive here, in which 16 ships are currently sailing from miniature port to miniature port.

The construction section Switzerland is the most impressive section to date - it was opened in November 2007. The focus here is on the mountains with the 6-metre-high Matterhorn, on which visitors can hike and, once they reach the summit, enjoy the view from genieβen . Many highlights, such as the small chocolate factory with real chocolate ejection, or the open-air concert with 21,000 young visitors, will amaze you.

And this is just the beginning! The model world continues to grow from minute to minute in constant construction at open construction sites. Additional sections are already planned until 2028, in the next two years France and Monaco will be added to the miniature world first and then many more spectacular sections will follow.

The history of our civilization

7,000 years of history have been recreated in just as many hours of laborious manual work with many details and numerous hand-made figures and buildings. The history of our civilization from 5,500 BC to 1942 is depicted in eight dioramas. Besides the Neolithic Age, the Middle Ages and the time of the French Revolution, you can also marvel at the epochs of the two world wars. To illustrate this to the visitors, an ideal-typical, unreal piece of land is shown, as it probably looked in the respective epoch.
