Food-sharing cook-along Cooking, serving and enjoying rescued food together
Rescuing food together, having a cup of tea, chopping and enjoying
Far too much food ends up in the bin! That works out at around 75 kg per person per year. Yet much of it is still perfectly edible; with fruit and veg in particular, it’s often just small blemishes that make them seem unsuitable for sale.
We’ll cook up something delicious together using rescued food and enjoy it with everyone who wants to join in.
We’ll also be setting up a pop-up distribution point – sharing food fairly – and providing information on food sharing.
It’s all taking place outdoors in the fresh air, at our mobile cooking stand in the car park in front of the Kultur Palast. Come rain or shine!
Everyone is invited to join in with the chopping and cooking, or simply to drop by to enjoy the food, have a chat and find out more. Come and see what’s possible when it comes to living more sustainably and economically, whilst also looking after your own wellbeing.
Generally, the food-sharing cook-along takes place on the third Saturday of the month, though there may occasionally be changes to the date – as is the case in March and April, when it will be held on the second Saturday of each month.
We look forward to seeing you there!
